Nat’al committee conducts activities to resolve border disputes between Amhara and Tigray regional states
The committee inaugurated at the national level to resolve border disputes in the areas of Amhara and Tigray regional states has exerted efforts to solve problems sustainably under the mandate of the constitution.
The national committee has evaluated its implementation in a meeting held with the participation of Temesgen Tiruneh, Deputy Prime Minister; Ambassador Redwan Hussien, Director General of NISS; Arega Kebede, President of Amhara Regional State; Getachew Reda, President of Tigray Regional State; and other stakeholders, as stated in the information sent to the mass media.
According to the national committee, issues that are implemented and delayed activities that should be done by the committee were points of the discussion and evaluation during the meeting. And also strengthens and weakness of the implementation process are identified in the meeting. Moreover, the committee has reached agreement to urgently resolve the political, social and economic problems encountered in the areas, which have claims of boundaries and identity.
In addition, the committee has also built trust and give priority to return people who were displaced from their homes in short period of time.
Finally, the National committee established to resolve border disputes between Amhara and Tigray regional states has scheduled to meet permanently and resolve disputes in short period of time.
