Ethiopia, Somalia Intelligence agencies agree to bolster joint operations to prevent terrorism

Ethiopia’s and Somalia’s Intelligence organizations have agreed to bolster their joint efforts and operations in combating against terrorism, which is increasing at an alarming rate in East Africa.
According to the statement from National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), Deputy Director General of NISS, Sisay Tola held a discussion on current and bilateral issues with the Mahad Mohamed, Director General of the Somalia National Intelligence Agency.
DG, Sisay Tola says Ethiopia and Somalia are expected to increase counter – terrorism cooperation's and partnership to protect the threat terrorism acts in East Africa region.
NISS will also continue to strengthen its cooperation in capacity building and information exchange with its Somali counterpart in the prevention of terrorism. NISS has sent investigation research and support team to work on recent terror attack of Mogadisho.
General Mahad Mohamed thanked the Ethiopian government for the medical supply provided.
He also said that they have reached agreement with Ethiopia, which is a key partner to Somalia, to collaborate in the fight against the threat of terrorism that is spreading in East Africa.
